You are warmly invited to attend the following event:
Swansea's Latin American Association (ALAS) welcomes back the talented Brazilian guitarist Fernando Aguera. Fernando returns to the city with his new duo Voz e Violão, in which he is joined by the Irish Soprano Grace Power. On Saturday 2nd July 2011 they will present an evening with the best selection of music for Voice and Guitar.
The concert starts at 7.30 pm, at St Paul's Parish Centre, De La Beche Road Swansea SA2 9AR, with an admission fee of £5.
Fernando and Grace are both finishing their studies for their Masters Degrees at the Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff. They have teamed up as Voz e Violão to provide a unique blend of music by composers from South-America to Europe, exploring the strength of their musical backgrounds. Alongside Irish and Brazilian Traditional songs they will feature the work of Heitor Villa-Lobos (Brazil), Antonio Lauro (Venezuela), Manuel Ponce (Mexico), Roberto Gerhard (Spain), Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (Italy), and Benjamin Britten (UK). This event will raise money for the charities supported by ALAS. Over the last 7 years ALAS has raised nearly £4,000 for charity, benefiting projects in Wales, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and elsewhere.
